Posted almost 2 years ago by Renecha Abrams
As a project FirstLine 2023 partner, The Atlanta Black Nurses Association (ABNA) has one more month to make its last call for action to assist ANA and CDC to reach six million US Health Care worker in providing access to foundational and practical Infection Prevention Control knowledge and resources. We all can agree that transmission and spread of viruses and bacteria are a part of the environment that we must learn to manage better. By now, most of you have heard about the FDA recommendation for the 2023-2024 formula of COVID-19 vaccines in the U. S. Based on sound data , “for the 2023-2024 Formula of COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S., the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee unanimously voted (21/0) on recommending a 2023-2024 Formula update of the current vaccine composition to a monovalent XBB-lineage” (FDA, 2023, www.fda.gov). If you want to learn more about the basic science of viruses and how viruses spread and much more on infection control and practice, Project Firstline (PFL) is for you. Please help us make this last call for action in 2023 to provide IPC training to nurses by visiting Project Firstline on ABNA website at http//www.atlantablacknurses.com Home | Atlanta Black Nurses Association. Once on the ABNA Website, • Select Project Firstline tab • Register on ABNA PFL page by completing the "Provide Your Information" survey • Then select and complete free ANA PFL online CE courses under the "Courses CE" drop down • Follow the link to register FOR the free ANA PFL CNE MODULEs • Navigate to all other drop downs on ANA and ABNA PFL pages and experience engaging, innovative, and effective well rounded infection control training video episodes, materials and tools and live or recorded virtual events. Simply stated, you want to take advantage of this opportunity to educate yourself to keep you, your family, coworkers and patients safe. Once you have access to these free resources, the access is available to you always.
