August Georgia CNS Meeting

Posted 4 months ago by Traci Smith

To All My CNS Colleagues,

I want to invite you to our Georgia CNS meeting on 8/9/24 at 12:00 via Zoom.  After speaking with the executive board, we feel that it is imperative to have a transparent and open conversation about the future of our affiliate.  Over the past several years, we have seen our membership decline and meeting attendance drop despite changing the cadence and the medium of meetings (both of which were based on feedback from membership surveys).  Most meetings do not have quorum since on average we have less than 10 people in attendance, many of whom serve on the executive board.

In order to properly serve our members and honor the mission and vision of the organization, we need actively engaged individuals to serve in the elected positions and participate in our standing committees.  As a result of the current state of the affiliate, the board was forced to make the difficult decision to cancel the annual Georgia CNS conference for September.  The unfortunate reality is that we need to facilitate more tough conversations sooner rather than later.

During the next meeting, we will provide a forum to solicit feedback from both our members and non-members in hope to determine the path for the future of Georgia CNS.  On behalf of the board, we are asking you to make an effort to attend the upcoming meeting so your voice can be heard.  In return, we ask that the group is open to hearing the concerns from the board as well.

I hope to see you next week.  You can find the information on how to join the meeting here:  https://georgiacns.nursingnetwork.com/nursing-events/144510-august-georgia-cns-meeting#!info
